The main reason people fly into Antalya airport is to visit the diverse attractions of Antalya city itself. With Antalya being such a central hub, you could find yourself skiing on the slopes of Bakırlı Mountain in the morning, followed by a relaxing afternoon of sunbathing and swimming at the beach in the afternoon. While it’ll take you two hours to get there in an airport taxi – the nearest airport to Alanya is now Gazipaşa – the journey is worth it. Antalya (AYT) is an international airport that’s 13km from the city center of Antalya, Turkey. As the airport is located on the country’s Mediterranean coast, it becomes especially busy during Europe’s summer period; back in 2016 it handled almost 19,000,000 passengers and was Turkey’s third-busiest airport that year, and the thirtieth-busiest airport in all of Europe.

There are two international terminals and one domestic terminal at Antalya airport, and it was even selected as Best Airport in Europe by the Airports Council International back in 2011.
